Mayor London Breed’s Gerrymandering Propelled “Moderate” Supervisors in Districts 4 and 6 — Will 2024 Finish the Job?

The Redistricting Task Force, at the bidding of the Mayor’s appointees, divided the most conservative precincts — Lakeshore and Merced Manor — from District 7 and spelled the election of Supervisor-elect Joel Engardio. Removing the Tenderloin from District 6 resulted in the election of Supervisor Matt Dorsey; in 2024 Districts 1 and 5 are also targeted.
