After my eponymous Jazz club in St.Louis failed I drifted to LA with the band, Clown and clerked at the Times who gave us free tickets to everything you wanted and I went to see this concert and before it opened a drummer hammered behind a closed curtain for about 5 minutes and kicked ass.

We all appreciated it but the crowd of 10,000 had come to Hollywood Bowl that hot Summer night to see Joco play bass …
