Campers,,
Still figuring out this putting pics and text together on site and see if this works.
Hmmmm, let’s address this to Al Saracevic who built the best Sports Desk of all time at the Chronicle then got bought away by Clint Reilly at the Examiner as a kind of Jack-of-all-keyboards kinda thing.
I’m not allowed to post on the Examiner, Al so I’ll comment here.
You wrote about Mayor Breed saying that the City is going in the right direction because office buildings and store fronts and tourists and the like were growing and growing and bursting til money flies out the spouts of their tea pots from the pressure.
I say the opposite as is my genetic wont.
In fact, for my lifetime here which goes back to 1966 when I cruised into town looking for drugs, sex and rock n’ roll I’ve been looking to relive that day.
Heyday of San Francisco music and art and poetry and fashion and literature and theater …
A day when we had?
A Republican Mayor with a rubber-stamp ‘volunteer’ BOS.
Greg Corrales beating every head he could in the Haight on his way to a record 100 complaints of brutality.
Personally.
100 complaints.
Makes you wonder how many didn’t complain?
Take that and put it in your pipe and smoke it, Terry Stangel.
You got a ways to go for the record, lad.
And, I doubt anyone ever got a dime for getting the shit kicked out of them by Greg.
Naw, they’d be looking at a red neck jury fulla people who wouldn’t let Willie Mays live next door to them.
The storefronts were mostly empty on Haight and a 3 bedroom I passed on w/my girlfriend later starter version of 6 wives …
They wanted 75 bucks a month.
The best drugs were free and no one went to bed hungry or unlaid.
Now, those were the glory days to me for San Francisco til now which is better.
And, I got bored.
We wheeled back to St. Louis to catch the Revolution there.
OK, see if this can get posted now thru my shaky hands …
Va, Va, Va …
VOOOOOM!!!!
