Dawg rediscovers Westside Observer

Skippy Brown

It has been being mailed to my Promotions box,

Here’s comment on great piece by Patrick Monnette-Shaw on ballot measures.

  • Avatar for h. brownh. browna few seconds agoYou’re sensational, Patrick,I’m 82 now and just realized that I’ve been missing reading Doug’s great rag cause it has been being delivered to my ‘Promotions’ box which I almost never open.I promise to always search there in the future. One thing I notice here is that the proposal to remove the Mayor’s power to put things directly on the ballot by themselves … isn’t on the ballot anymore ?I lobbied against that measure because that power alone would allow a new Progressive mayor to roll back this entire voter defanging with a season of carefully aimed Charter amendments just as Matt Gonzalez and the Class of 2000 did to Willie Brown.I urged Lurie to drop it because I think it is not just aimed at neutering future Progressive mayors, but also him if some smooth talker like me can get him to start adopting sensible Progressive ideas.Like, ‘Elect our Police Chief’, Daniel ? goNiners !!h.

About Me

I’m h. brown, the creator and author behind this blog. I’m a political blogger covering San Francisco local politics. Everything I write from now on is my attempt to carry on the torch for Linda Laflamme (Neska) and Roscoe Robinson (Frank Leslie/Mickey/Roscoe) two gifts to so many many thousands.

So far.

“I’m supposed to play here.”

That’s what Linda Laflamme said the first time I saw her under the snow topped skylight in the old Steam Auto factory my friends and I had converted to h. brown’s in 1977 I believe it was.
