Campers, I asked a gay friend who is familiar with protocol in this area and he replied: Here’s my experience. If one is in a gay bar or clothed gay place like that, it has not been uncommon for me for men to take a quick grope of dick or ass through clothing while passing by. It is annoying, but not that intrusive nor the end of the world. From what I read of what Chapin said, that Yekuteil reached down the front of his pants, grabbed his dick and commented that he was getting fat. That is not what I described above. In more sexual spaces, naked spaces, usually touching is negotiated through cues or verbally. There are some men who are not wired to do cues and think that one being naked in their presence is a license to grope or have sex. Those are the ones who get whacked physically. I do not know the details of the other two men’s charges. The deal is that unlike male/female, male/male have less of a power imbalance so there is a bit more latitude for us than for het men and that changes the power dynamics of such interactions. 0 0 votes. To be fair to Lurie, he waited a long time before endorsing Manny? After he and his minions were warned that more shoes would drop? Of course he waited. Waited until he felt the coast was clear. And for this he gets the benefit of the doubt. Anybody who thinks this is a sad day for the city either hasn’t been paying attention or just chooses to ignore what’s been going on from the jump.
