I watched a CNN interview with Mayor Lurie yesterday and he seemed as tho he was trying to make the word ‘Progressive’ into a bad thing much as Republicans earlier on befouled the word ‘Liberal’.

I thought he was smarter than that.

He gave the same old Fox News claim that SF has suffered under Progressive Rule for the past several decades when the fact of the matter is that SF has had moderate mayors for 42 of the 46 years since I came here in 1980.

Only break was Art Agos and Loma Prieta ruined him.

Strong mayors have failed the City and particularly, the Black population whose neighborhoods it raised and replaced with Safeway which is now deserting and abandoning their promises …

Newsom and subsequent Moderate mayors have thus had to listen to BOS knighted commissioners up until Lurie who brought his own Mod Pups with him to office so now there is only a single voice from all commissions and authorities.

And, he wants more power !!

Yet, for some reason still a mystery to me, he also wants to give up what is the principal power of any SF Mayor at present …

We are seeing unity between Mission residents and the Mission Merchant’s Association which will provide the basis for building power to put an end to this.
