Campers,

Happy Election Eve !!

this to ML and did I every love getting hold of 3 copies of their street edition

one to me

one to Rosh

one to my Republican lawyer nephews

It honestly gave me a rush like the first time I looked at The Call a quarter century ago.

Betsey had her own collection of little boxes.

Those would look nice with ‘Mission Local’ painted on in graffiti  …

Yeah, we been whipped pretty good, I’d argue that Willie had much more power than any of the long line of lackeys all the way up to Lurie who is the only one with his own money and, keep in mind that my talking clock (Alexa) says that the Mayor only has 30 to 50 million and his mom is worth a billion three so if she get’s pissed at him he’s as poor as Chakrabarti. lol Naw, Willie controlled every appointment to every commission and he changed Elections bosses 3 times I believe it was within 2 years so’s he could get one to order a couple of million ballots out of state for his private stockpile and I don’t know if those were the ones that ended up over a bar in Stinson Beach but they were everywhere and the upshot was that Newsom get’s to run for President. Yeah, Willie appointed Gavin as a solid to Gordon Getty whose son was Gav’s bestie. Willie once fired a Planning Commission member for being the sole vote against overloading Sutro Tower with a few tons more antennae against the advice of engineers whom everyone know don’t know shit. lol Willie’s real power that none of the other mayors had including this one is that he was widely loved by the City Workers and I watched him stand up in front of a couple of thousand of them and say something like this … “How many of you didn’t have a job until I gave you one ?!” “I’ll tell you what, if you don’t do what I say now you won’t have a job tomorrow!” Bottom line on Lurie is still that he’s not an asshole with two faces so that counts for a lot with people like me who think the Big Train from Howard Street and Silicon Valley is about the change it all and I mean before Mayor Lurie finishes his second term. go Niners !! h. The longer I look back on the Gonzalez years the more I am amazed how much power he was able to get away from the Mayor and give back to the people like appointments to the Police Commission and Planning Commission and Elections Commission and the Board of Appeals and every other major commission as I recollect. This is just the pendulum swinging back to the right only this time

I’m h. brown, the creator and author behind this blog. I’m a political blogger covering San Francisco local politics. Everything I write from now on is my attempt to carry on the torch for Linda Laflamme (Neska) and Roscoe Robinson (Frank Leslie/Mickey/Roscoe) two gifts to so many many thousands.

So far.

“I’m supposed to play here.”

That’s what Linda Laflamme said the first time I saw her under the snow topped skylight in the old Steam Auto factory my friends and I had converted to h. brown’s in 1977 I believe it was.
