I’m loving that Source sent us rain for Election Day again  …

Scottf, Wonderful summation of Preston’s career. I first met him at one of our weekly ‘Mayoral Candidates Debate’ in front of City Hall in 2007 when I was running against Newsom and De Renzo and I and all of the other candidates except for Newsom gathered weekly and it was a Pure San Francisco scene … A little taste … ‘Grasshopper’ who had a huge thing got on top of his illegal cab naked and played a pretty cool heavy metal riff filled guitar while Kenny the Clown (used to play B ball for Cal) weaved around the crowd on a skateboard twirling flaming batons and ‘Naked Yoga’ author George Davis (also a candidate) did his standing around in the raw thing and I supported Dr. Ahimsa Sumchai and Bill Lee told me that ‘they’ watched us out the Mayor’s windows and considered having us all arrested now that was an election season that we did ten or twelve weeks in a row closing the season with The League of Women Voters Forum at the Main library where I brought the house down by replying to Gavin siding with a question about more Big Brother cameras by agreeing that putting more cameras around was a good thing to which I replied to a stunned packed house … “Yeah, Gavin, if there had been more cameras in City Hall last year you wouldn’t be up here on this stage today would you ?” The Venue was drowned in a combination of loud groans and laughter. We’ll leave that there as an inside baseball. Preston was watching and I didn’t recognize him and after he showed up a couple of times I got suspicious because he was wearing a suit and went over and accused him of being an FBI agent. Guys like Dean and Gonzalez and Chesa and Harvey Rose make my addiction to this Scene worth it. go Niners !! h.
